The Power of Self-Care: 9 Powerful Ways to Nourish Your Body, Mind and Soul

Power of self-care

Introduction

Self care is a form of love towards ourselves. The power of self-care can change the way you perceive yourself. Self care can come in different forms to different people. In today’s fast-paced world, it is so important to maintain a schedule for self-care. We often juggle between our work life, relationships and personal obligations that we ignore the most essential part, i.e selfcare: nourishing our body, mind and soul. The power of selfcare can be a power as it rejuvenates and improves our body, mind and satisfies our soul.

The Power of Self-Care

Self-Care can be really satisfying, especially if you deal with stressful situations. People enjoy selfcare only if they think selfcare is bringing them good. But a person who does selfcare for the sake of the routine he had set, he may not be able to enjoy as much.

The power of selfcare is effective- whether you are in your work, at home or hanging out. People get so caught up in their daily responsibilities that they forget to nourish themselves- here’s when the role of selfcare comes to play.

A person can lack the excitement, the joy, the willingness to do a work or any activity assigned to him or any responsibility if they lack self-care. Self-care is the essence of human being.

Here are some of the ways you can follow to nourish your body, mind and soul:

1. Take time to breathe out

Our generation is so caught up with the idea of ‘hustle culture’ that we have all our focus on completing the task and not being aware of how and what we feel. This oftentime leads to burnouts, leading to less focus in the activities we are involved in.

Taking time for yourself and time to breathe out is definately going to help. Focus your awareness to your breath- this is also known as breathwork and is a great stress reliever. Take deep inhale and hold for 4 seconds and a long exhale with a sigh.

2. Sleep

Our sleep cycle is the most important part of our body. A person cannot be mentally stable if he doesn’t sleep. The sleep cycle should be good with minimum 6-8 hours of sleep.

A person lacking enough sleep is going to be stressed out and burn out easily. Lacking enough sleep also makes a person prone to various health diseases.

Having enough sleep is also a form of selfcare. Take good care of yourself so that you don’t have to suffer from any health issues and you can work smoothly and efficiently.

3. Skincare

When I talk about selfcare, the first thought that comes into mind is skincare. You are taking good care of your skin, glowing, what more do you need?

The way you take care of yourself is the way people around you will take care of you. When people see you glowing and smelling good, they will make you a priority- what I mean is that when you take care of yourself, people will feel a positive image of you and you will be perceived as a person with an Expensive Aura.

Skincare makes you feel good, the way you maintain your body, skin and the routine you do to keep up with your selfcare can really make a great impact on your mental health too- because you feel confident.

4. Declutter

Declutter is the throwing away of the unnecessary objects that are no longer required. Declutter is a way to improve mental health too- it also has a spiritual meaning.

When we declutter, we feel so organised, we feel so good, removing all the unnecessaries, which completey changes our space. I recently reorganised my room- decluttered the unnecessaries in my room and my gosh! I feel so organised and disciplined and motivated whenever I am in my room.

The spiritual meaning: Declutter in real life is throwing away all the unnecessaries like empty boxes, broken glass/statues, expired products, etc. But when we see the spiritual meaning behind it, it’ll blow your mind- Declutter is like people throwing away every unnecessary thought, feeling and circumstances that no longer serve us. Whenever we keep products that are expired, it influences our subconscious mind into thinking that these unnecessary products are required by us- which further influences our reality.

5. Hobby

Everyone has some kind of hobbies- the things that they enjoy doing. Whatever you enjoy doing is a form of selfcare.

If you have a hobby that you really enjoy, spend some time doing that. Most of the people find solutions and creative ideas whenever they are engaged in their hobby.

Do you have a hobby? Is that drawing? Or collecting coins? Or listening to music? Or teaching? Do you enjoy it? Have you got any ideas while performing the activities you enjoy?

6. Time with Friends and Family

Spending time with your loved ones like friends and family is a great form of selfcare. Going on a dinner on a restaurant, or going on a picnic with friends and family can be relieving as it gives us joy and happiness and a lot of memories we can cherish forever.

Spend time with your loved ones so that your relationships with them become stronger and you enjoy every moment spent with them.

7. Laughter

Ever laughed so hard that you can’t stop yourself from laughing? Ever watched a comedy scene that you laughed so hard that you fell on the floor? If you’ve experienced this, this is a good sign.

Laugh when you feel like you need to. Laugh so that you can feel your happiness within. When you laugh, your dopamine is released, which further increases your chances of having a good day.

Laughing eradicates anxiety and depression, and releases stress, which is a great advantage for people. Laughing is also a form of therapy. People gather in groups to laugh together, to feel happy and joyful.

8. Meditate

Being in a state of bliss comes from meditation- when you meditate, you become aware of your thoughts and actions. Meditating helps you with controling your thoughts and actions.

Meditation is also a form of selfcare as it keeps you calm and away from anxiety. You become mindful of your words and the way you behave.

9. Read Books

Reading books in a quiet place when you have ‘me-time’ is a great way to enhance your knowledge. People enjoy reading when they love the process of reading, i.e. if they love the place where they are reading, that will increase their chance of reading more in that place.

Reading books is a form of self-care because you love the books and enjoy it. Do it on a regular basis and watch your mental growth at its peak.

These are the ways you can have your selfcare. Thank you for reading my article.
