Sol de Janeiro 59 smells a bit alcoholic in the opening, not really that great as the other body mists. The key notes here are vanilla orchid, sugar, vanilla and sandalwood. As mentioned in the website, it is a woody gourmand fragrance.
It smells a bit floral after sometime, and there are prominent hints of sandalwood. You don’t get the much vanilla here. I do not recomment this fragrance as it might be cloying just because of the initial spritz which gives it an alchoholic smell. Definately not worth the hype. Smells plasticky and cheap.
Delicia Drench Body Butter
If you love gourmand fragrances and are trying to get your hands on a body butter that smells like an edible mix, definately go for Delicia Drench body butter.
The body butter smells like a sugar cookie, freshly baked out of the oven. The vanilla is more prominent in the cream than the fragrance mist. Definately the one that you must try.
Also, it’s winter season and layering this body butter with other gourmand fragrances like Kayali Vanilla 28 is going to make people follow you and sniff you everywhere you go.

The Delicia Drench Body Butter Controversy – Is it real?
“Does Delicia Drench attract spiders?” Yeah, that was the question raised by people after the controversy.
According to foxbusiness, a Sephora customer reported spotting several wolf spiders after using the product.
“If you’re scared of wolf spiders — watch out for these lotions, lol. I wanted to love them sooo bad, but one of the ingredients is like kryptonite to wolf spiders!” the customer wrote.
The company shuts down claims as it was a fake rumour. Sol de Janeiro debunked these claims in an Instagram story posted on Friday.
“We didn’t think we’d wrap 2023 becoming an urban legend. All of our products, including the new Delicia Drench Body Butter and upcoming Cheirosa 59 perfume mist, are free from fornesyl acetate, diisobutyl phthalate and hexadecyl acetate. So while they may attract a lot of attention from people, they won’t from arachnids (even though we love all creatures at Sol de Janeiro). Hope that clears up any concerns and Happy 2024!”
