My Simple Daily Routine to Stay Motivated – 5 Powerful Ways
Table of Contents
Introduction
Creating a daily routine to stay motivated is as simple as possible, but can get really harsh if you don’t stick to it.
You tend to lose focus, have a lack in motivation when you feel like you can’t maintain your daily routine. Read this blog to make your daily routine easy and simple and know how I stick to my routine daily.
1. Set Up a Clear Intention
I begin with setting up my intentions related to the type of activity I’m gonna perform in the particular day.
I start with writing down every little thing I want to do after I wake up in the morning. I jot it down in my journal or write it down in my To-do list.
You can create your to-do list on your phone or you can do it on sticky notes or journal as well. This is one of the foremost step to set your daily routine to stay motivated.
2. Divide Goals into Easy and Enjoyable Steps
To make my routine easy and efficient, I divide my goals into easy and enjoyable steps.
For example, I do my morning skincare routine (which may be boring to some) while listening to songs and affirmations that uplifts me. That’s how I enjoy doing my skincare.
You can enjoy your shower as well, take it as a cleansing ritual and listen to songs that uplifts you. You can set up your shower time in a ritual using essential oils, which will indeed uplift you and relax your senses.
You can divide your goals that is to be done during the day, and then make it easy and enjoyable as you want.
This is the second step towards your daily routine to stay motivated.
3. Find Powerful Motivation
The first thing that keeps me motivated is my fear of losing. Imagine yourself, you did procrastinate everything you wanted to do, but did nothing and you are in the same place now as you were last year.
Again, another motivation for me is the quote “Something is better than nothing” and “Walk slowly forwards, but never Backwards”.
To get more motivation, I head over to pinterest to find inspiration and images that inspire me to do my work and be consistent.
I also made a vision board, where I downloaded all the pictures – my goals that I want to accomplish. You can download pictures from pinterest to make your vision board as well.
This is your third step towards your daily routine to stay motivated.
4. Create Inspiring Reward for Your Work
To keep myself motivated, I maintain the habit of reward. There are basically 4 steps in our habit pattern:-
Cue —> Craving —> Action —> Reward
I’ve read about this pattern in the book Atomic Habits by James Clear. He says that creating a reward is what motivates us to do the work.
For example: Let’s assume you want to watch Netflix, but have lots of work to do and you want to stay productive.
So, you will now make Netflix as your reward after completing your work. The work is your action and the reward is Netflix and chill.
By creating this habit, you’ll be productive as well as motivated to complete your To-Do list.
5. Stick with the Habit Hook formula
To simply make you understand, Here’s an example: After I ___ I will ___. This may go as : After I take shower, I’ll read; or; After I finish my homework, I’ll listen to my favourite music.
When you stick to the Habit Hook system, you can’t lose track.
Conclusion
These are the steps to my simple daily routine which keeps me motivated. These are scientifically proven to increase your chances towards a productive daily routine to stay motivated.
Apply these steps in your daily life and watch how your life changes. I hope this helps! Thanks for reading.
